Entrepreneurship and Innovation at HCC is proud to present the Fifth Annual Susie Steiner Community Impact Award Breakfast on Friday, August 31. Scroll down to purchase tickets.

The Susie Steiner Community Impact Award honors a member of the community who makes giving back through entrepreneurship  education a priority. Susie Steiner’s impact was significant to the success of HCC’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation program and continues to inspire students today. The Award named for her recognizes an active partner and volunteer with the Hillsborough Community College Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program who has a positive and ongoing impact with students, faculty, and the very early stage start-up community. The Award was developed to honor Susie’s dedication to helping others as well as for her passion for building the local start up community.

We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker for the Steiner Award event will be serial entrepreneur Mike DeLazzer.  Mike DeLazzer has started more than eight companies. In 2006 he was inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneur Hall of Fame for his work as founder of GetAMovie Inc. which later became Redbox. Redbox has since become the largest video rental company in the world, with over 45,000 locations in the U.S. and revenues approaching $2B. Building on past success in the DVD kiosk industry, Mike co-founded New Retail LTD. In 2009, he was given a lifetime achievement award from the Collegiate Entrepreneur Organization for his work in supporting entrepreneurship globally.

The Susie Steiner Award is given each year at a breakfast attended by entrepreneurs, community funders, friends of Susie, and other community leaders and guests.
