After an average performance in high school, Daria decided to reach higher and make the most of her time at HCC. She worked diligently to qualify for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She also ran for a student government association (SGA) senator position and was elected. With a new confidence and momentum, Daria just kept going. Now she serves as SGA president for the entire state of Florida.
“I've learned that I have all the components to be a strong community leader,” said Daria. "Some day I want to be president of HCC or President of the United States—either way is a win!"
