“When you can use a negative situation to inspire good in life, you are born to lead others in the same direction.”

— Jacob, HCC engineering student, scholarship recipient

HCC Students Lead the Way.

Jacob’s childhood was plagued with trials, from his parents’ addictions to domestic violence to living in a foster home while his mother was in prison. Through it all, Jacob maintained a positive outlook and chose to be a force for good. He graduated high school with a 4.3 GPA; excelled in football, wrestling and baseball; and rose to leadership roles. With help from an HCC Foundation scholarship sponsored by the Suncoast Credit Union Foundation, Jacob continues his education at HCC and presses on toward his goal of becoming an engineer.

Who We Serve

HCC serves approximately 45,000 students annually at five campuses and three centers throughout Hillsborough County. HCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
