The Scholarship Application is now open for scholarship opportunities for the spring 2020 semester..
APPLICATION DEADLINE: October 16, 2019
The application will be open through October 16, 2019. Any HCC student who will be degree-seeking at HCC in the upcoming spring 2020 term is eligible to be considered for a scholarship, even if you are receiving other sources of aid (such as Pell, loans, other State need grants or HCC Institutional awards).
Most, but not all scholarships are based on financial need. To be considered for a need-based scholarship, students should have a completed FAFSA for the current academic year. Note that even if you know you do not qualify for a Pell grant, a completed FAFSA can demonstrate your need.
Start early! To apply, refer to the Student Application Guide and then click on the blue “Apply for Scholarship” button to the left. Remember that HCC Foundation Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. Essays and letters of recommendation are important!
HCC Foundation Scholarships
Generous donors to the HCC Foundation help make these scholarships possible for students. A committee of application reviewers awards scholarships to HCC degree-seeking students who have applied and met certain criteria through a competitive process.
Scholarships are typically awarded for one academic year or term (fall and spring; or spring only), unless otherwise noted. Recipients must reapply for any subsequent year. For information on institutional scholarships and other financial aid options, visit the Financial Aid web page.
Applying for a scholarship
HCC Foundation scholarships are intended for students who will be degree-seeking during the term(s) for which the scholarship applies. In order to apply, you must have a Hillsborough Community College student ID. The scholarship application process is quick, easy and free! Click the Apply for Scholarships button to the left. If you have a HCC student ID, you already have an account that may be accessed at any time and from various devices.
After you have applied
Following the closing date for applications, the scholarship application review and awarding process will begin and will take up to six weeks. Please note that we have many more applicants for scholarships than we have funds to award, so not all students will receive a scholarship. We appreciate your patience. You may check back on the status of your scholarship application by logging into your online account. HCC Foundation notices and updates will be sent to your Hawkmail account, so check it frequently for additional information
