Weddle holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering and operations research from Virginia Tech. For the past 12 years, he has actively raised millions of dollars for higher education at UNCG and Virginia Tech and served in leadership positions at both institutions. His wife, Meg, manages the family clothing business in Radford, VA they started 37 years ago, and Garrett spent 16 years listing, selling, and investing in real estate. He has received numerous awards and served in various appointments throughout his distinguished entrepreneurial career which have included Radford Business Person of the Year and serving as a councilman for the Radford City Council, President of the Radford Chamber of Commerce and President of the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance.
