“I was fortunate that there were no hurdles preventing me from getting a college education. I chose HCC because I knew it was a great place to start college and prepare for a career.”

— Ray Rocha, 1983 HCC Graduate, Owner, Rocha Controls

What I discovered at HCC that surprised me, was the quality of the education I received. The classes in math and chemistry were as comprehensive and challenging as those I took at the university level. The difference is the professors were more accessible and the class sizes smaller. I also had excellent professors who took a great interest in my success, like Dr. Voy, Dr. Klinck and Dr. Perry. My A.A. degree from HCC prepared me for transfer to the University of South Florida where I earned a B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering. I’ve owned my own Engineering firm since 1996. Choosing HCC helped me engineer a successful future.
