Created with a Federal Department of Education grant and designed to support the College’s efforts to improve persistence and success in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) programs, the HCC STEM Transfer Center provides a wide variety of services to all HCC students, from guidance on exploring, researching, and identifying a STEM major to one on one advising.  The Transfer Center also offers assistance with scholarship opportunities, tours of colleges as well as large corporations who hire STEM majors, and opportunities to talk to people employed in the student’s field of interest.

As part of the grant, HCC also receives a 1:1 match for newly endowed scholarship gifts. Endowed scholarships that qualify for the match are established with an investment of $10,000 or more and the scholarships that are generated will be designated for students attending the Dale Mabry Campus who are studying for their degree in a STEM related field. Endowment funds can be pledged and paid over several years.
