Not only did we have more people in attendance than ever to support HCC and our programs at the 2018 Presidential Showcase on Thursday, September 13, but we kicked off our 50th Anniversary in style! We are also thrilled to announce that the public kickoff of the Foundation’s campaign for the College’s 50th anniversary took place at the 2018 Presidential Showcase. HCC Rising: Together We Lift Our Community is HCC’s very first college-wide fundraising campaign and will raise money for our endowment for the College’s many deserving students, as well as program support dollars for our amazing faculty.
Perhaps even more exciting, a lead gift to HCC Rising of $1,000,000 has been made by Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel. This donation, the largest cash gift ever made by an individual to HCC, will support international students studying the health sciences. In recognition of this historic gift, the new health sciences building on HCC’s Dale Mabry campus will be named The Drs. Kiran and Pallavi Patel Allied Health Building.
The Patels’ gift, along with commitments from Florida Blue, Tampa General Hospital, Suncoast Credit Union, and the William A. Gregory Jr. Foundation, among numerous other individuals and businesses, have helped the Foundation reach 90% of our original ambitious goal.
